The road will be widened from two to three lanes in each direction, which is expected to reduce travel times by 50 per cent and increase capacity from 8,000 to 12,000 vehicles per hour in both directions
The timings apply to Customer Happiness Centres, public transport, paid parking zones, marine services, and technical testing centres
The road’s capacity will rise to 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, reducing travel time between Jumeirah Street and Al Khail Road from 20 minutes to six minutes
RTA has also completed traffic improvement works on Street 13 in Al Warqa 1 to serve residents and school goers
For customers who prefer not to book in advance, an optional walk-in service will remain available at 19 centres, subject to an additional service fee of Dhs100
The RTA is also set to construct a two-lane bridge in Nad Al Sheba, spanning approximately 700 metres
This year, the RTA will expand its dedicated bus and taxi lanes by adding six new lanes spanning 13 kilometres
This move is part of ongoing efforts to deliver a seamless, secure, and integrated digital experience focused on customer satisfaction
The initiative also supports the objectives of RTA’s Strategic Plan 2025–2030, which prioritises improved operational efficiency and the expansion of strategic and investment projects
