HUAWEI unveils new wearable lineup in Berlin, blends fashion and function

With fashion-forward flourishes and a focus on intelligent design, Huawei signalled its next leap in personal technology at a glitzy product launch in Berlin.

Huawei has continued to gain momentum in the wearables market.

According to the latest IDC report, it ranked first globally in year-over-year growth for wearable shipments in 2024 and has held the top spot in China’s market share for six consecutive years.

With its latest product line, Huawei is doubling down on a lifestyle-driven approach, positioning itself as a force in the global wearables space — where fashion, function and fitness converge.

Under the theme “Fashion Next”, the tech giant introduced a series of flagship products, led by the HUAWEI WATCH 5, which debuts with a suite of health-focused upgrades and sleek new design features.

The launch also included the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Series, HUAWEI FreeBuds 6, and the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2-inch 2025 tablet.

The HUAWEI WATCH 5 pioneers a new era of intelligent interaction, equipped with the enhanced HUAWEI TruSense System and powered by the new Multi-sensing X-TAP Technology.

Enabled through a Distributed Sensor Module, users can now conduct fingertip health measurements with improved speed and accuracy. Gesture control has also been expanded to include “Double Slide” and “Double Tap” gestures for more intuitive use.

Available in two new colours – Purple and Sand Gold – the WATCH 5, it will be available for pre-order in the UAE on May 22, and in retail from May 29, at a price of Dhs1,599 via Huawei’s online platforms and select retailers.

Alongside the flagship smartwatch, Huawei unveiled the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 4 Series. Staying true to its “Fashion Active” ethos, the latest model features a slim 9.3 mm profile and supports pro-level outdoor sports such as trail running, diving up to 40 meters, and golf course tracking. The device incorporates the same TruSense health system for holistic health monitoring.

It will be released in the UAE on May 16 for Dhs549.

The HUAWEI FreeBuds 6 were also introduced – the brand’s first open-fit earbuds featuring dual-magnetic driver units and Stable & Clear Calls Noise Cancellation. With a sleek, droplet-inspired design, they promise immersive audio and a comfortable fit.

The FreeBuds 6 will also be available in the UAE on May 16 for Dhs549.

HUAWEI also unveiled the MatePad Pro 12.2-inch

Rounding out the showcase, Huawei presented its new productivity-centric tablet, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2-inch 2025. It features a Tandem OLED PaperMatte Display with advanced anti-glare properties and comes with creative tools like a 3D Oil Painting Brush and frame-by-frame animation features. The device will be available in the UAE in June, with pricing to be announced.

Huawei is also offering HUAWEI Care+ Service, covering extended warranties, accidental damage, and loss protection for audio products.

As part of its broader push to inspire wellness, the company introduced “Active Rings” – an evolution of its “Light Up Your Rings” campaign – encouraging fitness through more than 100 sport modes available on its wearables.

The initiative is centred on the philosophy of Enjoy Your Moment.
